What is an STNA?

STNA stands for State Tested Nurse Aide.

What do Nurse Aides do?

Provide nursing care such as dressing, feeding, bathing and observing patients.  Other skills may be required depending on the employer.


What characteristics generally describe a Nurse Aide?

Compassion, empathy and caring.  Good general health and ability to communicat with other members of the healthcare team are also important.

Can Nurse Aides go into Nursing?

Many do.

Where can Nurse Aides work?


Usually in long-term care facilities, home health agencies, assisted living and hospitals.
